The project, promoted by Fondazione Musica per Roma, will cover a period of two years (2010/2011) and will be structured in a series of small exhibitions on the protagonists of Fluxus, enhanced by a full program of performances both historic and contemporary . George Maciunas
The exhibition, held in AuditoriumArte from 26 January to 17 March 2010, will trace the spirit of the Lithuanian artist through the theme of the game, intended as a way to report, exchange and change. The exhibition will include, in addition to a special ping-pong adapted by the artist, examples of graphic designers Maciunas, its capacity for critical analysis of the history of art, as well as its unique and fruitful way to work in unison with other artists of the Fluxus group, combining their experiences in a creative collective where the equation and the overlap between art and life must be total.
George Maciunas, who was born in Lithuania and lived in the U.S. until his death in 1978 from 1962 was the theoretician, author and organizer of the group Fluxus.
Fluxus was a group of international artists who found in him a tireless landmark theoretical and organizational, that can gather and put into dialogue artists from the United States, Europe and the Far East. Fluxus is sometimes mistakenly regarded as an artistic movement, while the hundreds of initiatives and projects supported by Maciunas were extended well beyond that scope, to include an expanded sphere of influence that socio-cultural and political investigation, with the aim can promote a better world and a more complex understanding of the individual. Maciunas is for example considered the "father of Soho", as was the first to establish and build in that neighborhood of New York's first artists' cooperative, giving them the opportunity to live and work in areas suitable and cost-effective.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog published by Black with an essay by Manuela Gandini.

The exhibition will be held three evenings of performances: 26 January, to coincide with the inauguration of the exhibition, the collective of artists and musicians from Berlin, Maulwerker, propose a series of performances of the most famous of the Fluxus movement. Among these, specifically made for the Musica per Roma Foundation, the new edition of In Memoriam To Adriano Olivetti (1962) by Maciunas and other performances designed by leading historians of Fluxus as Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik and La Monte Young.

Second appointment February 26 with After Fluxus performances of Caesar Pietroiusti Raimundas Malasauskas and Tonino Battista.

A Lesson is an idea and a performance by Iacopo Seri Caesar Pietroiusti with the assistance of Filipa Ramos. Within this space there will be a real resonance to his university lecture which will be analyzed and discussed "Rhizome", the introductory chapter of the book plans thousand Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. The only variation in academic practice will be that all the listeners, during this lesson will have to drink at least a liter of wine per person. It 'work on the mechanisms of attention and the precarious and unpredictable relationship between distraction, thoughts and parallel versions of Actually, a rigorous experimental verification of the famous phrase of Deleuze and Guattari: "Drunkenness ... triumphant irruption of the plant in us."
psychic Interview # 2 Raimundas Malasauskas is a live performance in which the artist will try again with the help of a medium to contact George Maciunas, just as it did in New York in 2001. As the artist explains, "This time the medium will be another, but the answers may remain the same. Talking with the dead is never an issue concluded. "
Body & Sound Tonino Battista is the musician's work for three human bodies, and electronics. Finally

March 3 will be the turn of the tribute concert John Cage Telephones and Birds. Elements in the first part, four small works of art devoted to natural elements dear to the poetics of American composer: plants, rocks, water, air knives and fire. In the second part, the famous performance Telephone & Birds, designed by Cage in the golden years of his close relationship with the Fluxus movement. The stage will be drawn by four keyboards arranged in a ring that will reproduce the sound of dozens of different birds. At the center, seated at a table, will take place that will make the Master Ching, following the rules of the Book of Changes, a series of telephone numbers, seemingly random. In fact, on the other end of the "wire" telephone " there will be, in direct connection or recorded, some of the greatest artists of Fluxus still in operation. At the keyboard sit four Italian and foreign musicians who have engaged in direct Cage (by Alvin Curran with Marcello Panni), while the ceremonial role of Master Ching will be supported by Achille Bonito Oliva.

After Maciunas, the project will continue in April with an exhibition of George Brecht, another leading figure of the original group Fluxus and fall with that of Wolf Vostell. In 2011 will be the turn of Nam June Paik, Giuseppe Chiari and Robert Filliou.
